Take Inventory and Maximize Skills
Running a school is more than just keeping a budget and timetable. I aided in the development of the ACE plan and literacy plan for three schools. This gave me better understanding of the large scale planning and vision needed to be successful. I played an important part in supporting not only the school's visions but the Wolf Creek vision as well.
One of the most important skills that an educational leader needs to develop is the ability to develop empathy for everyone on the team and develop a shared vision that everyone can support. In our schools, whenever we are implementing a new strategy or tool it is to support student learning and achievement. Once that is accepted and adopted, all positive stakeholders will accept the school operations and resources.
